Dharamsala, India

This small Tibetan town is built right into the side of the mountains in the cloud covered Himalayas. From its winding streets, its inhabitants can see the pine tree covered mountain side drop thousands of feet, while snow capped peaks pierce the clouds in the distance-- truly, the natural beauty of this place is something to behold.

The generosity and compassion of the Indian government has made Dharamsala a safe place for the Tibetan government to operate, and offers a place of refuge for those who flee their homes in Tibet. The unbelievable journey over the Himalaya Mountains is filled with life threatening encounters-- exposure to the elements, hunger, wild animals and more-- and all of this while traveling only at night. It is safe to say that few are capable of such a journey, but the Tibetan people incorporate the energy of such experiences into a glowing smile, and channel it into their music of inspiration and hope for future freedom and world peace.
