Bethlehem, Palestine

Between the refugee camps and the security wall separating the West Band from Jerusalem, Palestinians can hardly walk down the street without being reminded of the challenges they face. And yet despite these conditions, the people remain hopeful. Vast murals cover the walls of the refugee camps, depicting the lush landscapes of homelands left behind. The security wall-- over 20 feet high in some places, is covered in messages and imagery of freedom, such as people climbing vast staircases into the sky. A spirit of change is blowing through the land, and seeks to be expressed through music.
