Kevin Krupitzer

Kevin Krupitzer

Kevin discovered his passion for filmmaking in Detroit, Michigan. While shooting award winning photographs for the newspaper during the day, the evenings were spent filming crash-tests at Daimler Chrysler at speeds up to 10,000 frames per second. Upon moving to Los Angeles, Kevin was awarded the AFI Conservatory Scholarship for Cinematography and in 2002 received his MFA in Cinematography from the American Film Institute.

From short films to feature films, single camera documentary to multi-camera HD concert DVDs, commercials to music videos, Kevin's production experience is invaluable to each new project. By embracing the art of collaboration, Kevin strives to utilize new technologies with classical storytelling techniques to create projects that stimulate and inspire audiences. Kevin has since collaborated with some of the top names in the industry, shooting documentaries with Norman Seeff and Robert Greenwald, music videos with Diddy, Remy Ma, Juelz Santana, Daddy Yankee and Magic Numbers, corporate campaigns with Nissan, Sony, and Scion, and concerts for Keb' Mo', Los Lobos, MXPX, and STS9. Kevin belives that Playing for Change will allow audiences worldwide to experience the excitement, passion, humanity, and music that Kevin experienced during the production of this film, and ultimately cause each individual to be more understanding of, and connected to, those who once seemed so far away.

I met Mark Johnson and Jonathan Walls while shooting and recording a concert tour across Europe. While on a train traveling across the UK, Mark explained to me his vision of how we could connect the world through music. When the concert tour ended, we decided the best way to make Playing for Change a reality was to board the next train to Barcelona instead of the next plane home. Since then I have taken just about every form of transportation known to man to help keep PFC moving forward and I am so grateful to everyone we've encountered who also took a chance and made a choice to be a part of this movement!
